Never heard of Win ME 2000. There is Win ME which is a Win 9X system and there is
Windows 2000 professional which is a whole different operating system (Win NT) than
the core that Win ME was built on. That said, and not knowing as to what you really
have, you could have a hardware incompatibility, or more often, that your BIOS is
configured to trigger power saving mode (which Windows may have issues with).
For incompatibility, depending on the age of the hardware and whether it could be
fixed with a BIOS update, (if the manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer even supplied
one) then you might be able to fix it if it is a compatibility issue.
For settings in the BIOS, you would have to read the manual that came with the machine
or the motherboard for power saving options and set them appropriately. If you don't
have a manual, you might find one on the computer or motherboard manufactures website.
