"i810" is the Intel chipset. The Gigabyte model number should be on the board. You
should be able to find the drivers for it with a little Googling. As I recall WinMe
will install an acceptable graphics driver for it, don't know about the audio.
As a practical matter a 1000MHz Pentium III coppermine is as high as I would go.
They are dirt cheap nowadays. The 1133Mhz Coppermines are less common but if you
happen to pick one up at the right price then fine.
Tuatalins are for FC-PGA2 sockets. I vaguely remember reading something about them
having an extra pin so they can't be installed on boards with the FC-PGA socket although
there are adapters. My guess the adapter will cost more than than the CPU and would
be a waste of money. The i810 series chipsets really wouldn't make good use of the
extra speed anyway.
You are lucky your board is an i810e chipset and not an i810. The i810e chipset is
designed to work with both 100MHz and 133MHz PIII's. The i810 chipset only supports
100MHz PIII's not the 133MHz versions.
133Mhz RAM isn't going to make any difference with an i810e board. The maximum FSB
is 100MHz even with a 133MHz PIII. The chipset has an asynchronous memory bus.
The i810e also supports ATA-66 rather than ATA-33 with the i810.
It might be a good idea to upgrade the BIOS for your board to the final version if
you plan to install a 1000MHz CPU to make sure it is recognized properly.
