At http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/ntfswin98.shtml you can download NTFS
ver.4 drivers for 98/ME they are read-only in the freeware version but should work(depending
on the security settings) for pulling the files off the drive for backup.
If you had set compression (you're probably)or heaven forbid encryption (definitely
if you don't have the private key still)you're screwed and you'll have to reinstall
2000, but there is nothing preventing you from having a dual boot setup. Just make
sure you don't convert the C drive to NTFS.
The full read/write drivers are available for 98/ME at Http://www.winternals.com
for $50 but it isn't clear if you can write NTFS ver.5 I think you can though.
