Question about 'Contents of the MSDOS.SYS File'

I have a question about Contents of the MSDOS.SYS File:

When my computer is starting i get a message stating "invalid setting in MSDOS.SYS BootMenuDelay=" I may have got the syntax wrong, but I think that's right. Anyway I opened the msdos.sys and BootMenuDelay wasn't even in there so I added it with a setting of 30. Problem is, I still get the message during bootup. Any Ideas? Thank you
