I think my problem relates to this article. I am fixing my sister's computer and I keep getting a "windows protection error - system halted" bsod when winME loads up. I already went to msconfig, turned off the startup files, didn't work. Turned off the system.ini and win.ini files, and didn't work. Turned off all the drivers, didn't work. It happens whenever the computer feels like it, so I figure it's a software/program conflict. I am contemplating doing a format, then a clean installation of winXP, but will that solve the problem? Ideas? Suggestions? Megan
