I have a question about Do I still need CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT?:

I'm having problems when I open a DOS window, that my keyboard isn't mapped correctly (for example the @ symbol prints as an inverted comma). Under DOS, this used to be handled by loading code pages and using country.sys and keyboard.sys - and was relatively simple to fix - but I can't find a fix under Windows ME. The keyboard and country settings are correct in Control Panel and everything works fine in a Windows program, but not when I open a DOS window. Any ideas, anyone?
