Getting ICS to work with PPPoE ADSL in ME

I have a question about Getting Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) to work with PPPoE:

I am trying to get ICS to work with a (bellsouth provider/3com internal ADSL modem) PPPoE ADSL internet connection. Has anyone been able to do this?

I have a 3com homephoneline network in place, which works great until ICS hacks it up. I have been through the (excellent) "setting up ICS" article. After installing ICS, in the wizard, if I choose "direct connect with 3com ADSL PCI Modem Dialup/PPP" ... then I am not able to connect on the host at all. If instead, I choose the DUN connectoid which actually establishes my PPPoE net connection, then my host connects fine, but the clients cannot.

On examination of the network configuration tab, it seems that the problem is that while all adapters are present, there is no ICS protocol, IPX/SPX, or TCP/IP set up for the 3com ADSL modem. Attempting to add is futile.

Supporting this is that if I examine the ICS settings found at: Control Panel | Internet options | Connections | Sharing, in the "connect to the internet using" drop down box, my 3com ADSL modem is not listed! (Note: these are hardware choices only.)

It seems as if I could only add the missing protocols from my network settings window, and bind them to my 3com ADSL modem, I'd be in business ... but how to do this???!!!!!

Is it possible to make PPPoE/ADSL and ICS in WinMe work?! Any help greatly appreciated ...
