Need to get to the A:\> prompt ... FAST ? Just take a clean formatted diskette and
copy COMMAND.COM and IO.SYS from the C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\EBD folder to it.
And that is ALL you need to get the A:\> prompt to load real quick!
The tip is to add Delindex.bat from: DELINDEX
Need to clean out ALL those bloat files and index.dat files with your old URLs? Just
type this:
A:\>delindex , and hit enter, read the screen, hit any key, then type R for Run.
You get a read-out of just how much disk space you have cleaned up!
For '98 just type ... win ... at the prompt and you are back in Windows!
For ME, take the bootdikette out and do Ctrl+Alt+Del. It is that simple.
Ever stuck to get a file onto the disk where it needs to be then use the COPY command.
You can copy a file you added to this bootdisk to your disk with:
e.g. A:\>copy a:\explorer.exe C:\ , if the C:\Windows\Explorer.exe is damaged, OR
directly to the correct location.
DOS COMMANDS
And do NOT forget to make a regular Windows Start-Disk as well!
EBD = Emergency Boot Disk.
Have a nice ... play!
