Question about 'How do get the taskbar and desktop back if Explorer crashes'

I have a question about how to get to MS/Dos on Windows ME. By pushing and holding F8 during start up I get only 4 options and MS/Dos is not one of them. I don't have a task bar or a startup window and need to try Jack Gulley's advise as posted on February 6.
