Question about 'Make one of those Keen DOS Startup Menus'

I have a question about Make one of those Keen DOS Startup Menus:

I am running Windows ME, and as for making up "one of those keen DOS startup menus", I have found it impossible! Windows ME seems to completely bypass the Autoexec.bat and config.sys files, so anything that is referenced in them will NOT be loaded! AND, Windows ME doesn't support booting to Ms-Dos anyway. I would really like to know if it would be possible to somehow boot to DOS without resorting to a boot floppy, and how to utilize the config.sys and autoexec.bat files again.

The way I do it is by making a Start-Up disk from the the add and remove program. The restart my PC, while keeping the floppy in the drive. So when the PC boots and searches the Floppy in the drive it directly takes you to the DOS command. Presto...... Rahul Pandey *** mErA bHaRaT mAhAn ***

There are several programs floating around the Internet that allow you to patch dos to Windows Me However Microsoft warns that this is not advisable!! I'm not sure sure if any of these are still around but do a google search on: boot dos from Win Me and if you can't find any I can e-mail the best one that I liked to use when I was running Windows ME. I've since upgraded to Windows XP so don't run Win XP any more.

I believe if you've downloaded TweakUI you can set windows to pay attention to config.sys and other files... do a search for TweakUI if you don't have it
