Hi,
I just found the perfect solution to the problem at
www.pobox.com/~jayguerette/transparent
It is great utility. just put transparentd.exe in the startup folder, and the desktop
colour becomes the colour of the text you would like to have and the desktop itself
becomes transparent.
The help provided is adequate so no problems there.

It shows good programming when Transparency 4.2 (written in 1998) still works well
under WinMe at IE6 SP1 level. The referenced version 5 at
http://home.attbi.com/~jguerette/transparent/ is not needed in my book.
