Question about 'Troubleshooting Driver Problems'

Help please! I have a Sony Digital camera DSC P50. Until I recently re-installed Wondows it was all fine, now my computer refuses to load the driver from the CD rom giving the message- 'error extracting support files'. I have tried downloading the driver from Sony web-site - the computer still ignores it. I have tried using different USDB ports to no avail. Can anyone suggest a solution please?

In some cases it may be neccessary to disable all of your TSR's first. Ive seen where certain TSR's actually prevent programs from being installed with similar type errors. Do a search throughout this forum for other articles by me, as I address this issue numerous times especially when it comes to gaming. Basically you need to use the "MSCONFIG" utility to temporarily keep windows from starting any TSR's on boot. Click the start button, then RUN. then type in "msconfig" to start the utility
