Question about 'Why don't folders remember their position, sort order, or icon size?'

If I open and position a folder, then restart my computer, at windows startup the
folder opens and positions itself to the way I'd left it. This I like. However, after
upgrading to IE 6, a windows restart no longer retains the folder's position, but
merely opens to a 'default' desktop setting. By restoring windows back to previous
configuration (IE 5.5 SP2), the problem disappears. It seems that IE 6 is resetting
my desktop settings on restart. Are there any settings or reghacks to eliminate this
annoyance?
