Hi Fred,
If you have installed Micro$oft's power toy, TweakUI, open it and click the Desktop
tab. Scroll down to about the fifth item from the bottom "Search Results" and place
a check in the square. Click Apply>OK. If you have never installed TweakUI download
it from the following site:
http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp
Regards,
Ron

....but never if you have any problems try to uninstall IE6 and go back to IE5.5
following Microsofts official directions.
You'll have to reinstall WinME at the end.!!!

Hi
I also had problems with search after upgrading to IE6. I was able to get back to
IE5 using the following command from MS web site:
"drive:\program files\internet explorer\ie uninstall\w2kexcp" /u /q
I still did not get back search from the start menu. Hope this helps you get back
to IE5.
