persistant screen freezing

I keep getting a persistant problem of the computer 'freezing' and I have adjusted the start up to eliminate too many programs running. But now I am getting a screen prompt that the display driver needs fixing and need to update drivers through windows updates. Could this be the reason for the freezing in the first place or is this because I am just restarting the computer again and again and this then changes the colour resolution ? Help me please as I'm going to sort this out if it kills me!

Most Screen Freezing is related to a PC with insiffcient HARDWARE to run Windows, Especially WinMe. Would have to know what PC you are using to tell you more, what is the CPU Speed? The Amount of RAM? Etc
