I am not sure I am actually responding to message as I have a question also. If you
are wanting to uninstall & then re-install, surely you would just do it by inserting
WinMe disc & letting it write over what you have there, or by installing 98 or any
other version actually. Be sure to save data, etc. before doing so. I want to know
how to get my Windows Explorer back which has disappeared. When I insert WinMe disc,
it wants to install everything rather than just selectively. Anyone have an answer
for me? Thanks.

I have done a inplace install once. Installing over the
the OS repaired my puter, and all my apps and data
remained intact. I did have everything backed up
because I was prepared to clean install if it didn't
work. I was using a full install CD of ME. I am not
sure if a update version would have same result.

Hi. If you have windows Me and want to UNINSTALL it then just simply create a start-up
disk for it and restart windows with the floopy in drive A it will get you to 4
options 1. help 2.with cd-rom support 3.without cd-rom support 4.minimal boot...
i would want to choose the #1 option and after it puts you in DOS with help file
opened you can read how to uninstall Windows Me at the very buttom of the page. But....
i will write down how to do it step by step if you do not feel like reading it.
>When you are in the DOS exit whichever file is open for example HELP by pressin
CTR scrolling down to the EXIT and pressing ENTER
>You should have a black screen with "A:\" written down
>type in smartdrv and hit ENTER
>type : and hit enter
>type cd\\command and hit ENTER
>type uninstal.exe and hit Enter
that should do it and you should no longer have Windows on Your hard drive but i
suggest you look at the help file instructions in DOS to make sure everything is
correct. wiht any questions or comments e-mail me at krlyuzh86@hotmail.com. Thanks.
