I have a question about How do I stop a program from running whenever I start Windows?:

I know how to stop a program from running but which ones are supposed to run at all times? I unchecked a couple and then my scanner stopped working. Do I now have to start up using selective startup all the time? thanks

To get a clue of what startup programs do, try looking for information on them on the internet. One good source of information is Tasklist_pages . Use MSCONFIG to test deleting some of them you don't need like TaskMonitor and PCHealth. Then remove them the proper way through RegEdit.

Go to start,Type in msconfig. press OK go to start up tab Check what programs you want to start. NEVER NEVER uncheck system tray or scan registry
