Question about 'Why are some entries missing from the Start Menu?'

I have a question about Why
are some entries missing from the Start Menu?:
Why is the "Favorites" drop-down link missing frommy start menu? I hit Start at bottom
left but when the menu is displayed "Favorites" is missing. It shows up on the Start
menus of the other users's desktops on this pc. Why isn't it displayed on mine?

Each user profile is configured independently, but the profiles can be modified under
Windows- Profiles "user" Start Menu. Simply copy the shorttcuts you want into the
Start Menu folder!

Display Favorites on Start menus.

Actually, this is a non-default item you have to select for your user Start Menu.
Click Start - Settings - Taskbar and Start Menu - Advanced tab. The first entry
in the Start menu and Taskbar options list is "Display Favorites". Check
the box if you want it. Then click Apply bar.

Apparently you don't understand that "Display Favorites" is not displayed after
clicking the advanced tab. The first entry in my list is "Display logon". "Display
Favorites " is completely missing. That's the problem. If it was displayed I wouldn't
be posting this message.
