Question about 'Stop Windows from saving the thumbnail cache (THUMBS.DB)'

I have a question about Stop Windows from saving the thumbnail cache (THUMBS.DB):

I have a digital camera that I use on both my laptop(Windows XP) and my home PC (Windows ME) My problem is that when I try to burn photos on either computer a thums.db files is also coped which causes a lot of problems while burning to a CD (IE photos are either coruped or wont display the image.) If I manually delete this file, the photos burn with no problem at all. Can someone help me

Sounds like a Windows bug. perhaps the thumbs.db holds some other type of meta information
that's choking your image viewer.... perhaps it's got extra info in it to tell the
"common tasks" bar quickly the filesize/dimensions of the picture, as well as holding
the cached thumb image. I'd like to see you try viewing your "failed discs" on another
NT based system... say win2k. if there is meta info in the thumbs.db file, perhaps
IE is unable to decipher it. the code base for 9x vs. NT based IE's are a tad different.
Have you tried viewing the files in a legit image viewer (ACDsee and the likes?)

I know you posted the message in 2003, but did you ever solve the problem?. I have had the same problem when using HP's Memories software.(to make slideshows of photo's) The only difference is that I cannot always delete the thumbs.db file? It is very frustrating as it is so time consuming! thanks Ron Cason Sawbridgeworth, Herts
