Question about 'Replace the Ugly Startup and Shutdown Screens'

I have a question about Replace the Ugly Startup and Shutdown Screens:

I've tried putting the LOGO.SYS file in the root drive, even putting it in the C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS (there was no LOGO.SYS to begin with in that folder), but still the startup logo stays the same. Changing the shutdown logo works perfectly, it's just the startup logo that won't seem to work. Is there another way of changing the logo? Thanks in advance!
