Question about 'Use Dial-Up Networking over a LAN'

I have a question about Use
Dial-Up Networking over a LAN:
I am currently attempting to set up my Windows ME computer with a Windows 98 computer
for internet sharing.
I have a ADSL modem which allocates IP addresses automatically and has a USB connection.
I am using a switch to connect the 2 computers and the modem connects to the USB
port in the windows ME computer.
Do I need a software program to be able to set up the 2 computers for internet sharing?or
can the switch be able to do the job.
Does the second computer need to be allocated a static IP address?
Any help would be appreciated.
regards

All you need to do is buy a cheap Belkin router ($25.00) the installtion process
is about 2 min. That's all you need. The router comes with the software you need
to connect as many as 4 or 5 machine to one internet service.
