I have a question about Windows keeps forgetting simple settings, such as screen colors!:

Okay, well, last night my computer froze up. So like anyone else would, I restarted, my computer is on low resolution and 16 colours, also there is no sound, and my mouse cursor was gone, well I fixed the mouse issue by reinstalling my mouse drivers, I heard in a Windows 98 forum that the solution was to remove the display and audio drivers, and restart, and it would prompt me to re install them, but before I do so, I really wish someone would tell me if this trick will work, because I don't want to end up ruining my machine, this trick apparently worked on windows 98, but will it on ME? If you know please tell me so now!!

I would IMMEDIATELY run an on-line Anti-Virus check and then scan for spyware/Advertising-Trojans BEFORE you do anything else!!! I had this problem on ME & did the same u said. It worked. Hope it also works for you. Reinstall ur video drivers. But for mouse driver i deleted some junk info in a mouse driver related file
