More info about Getting
Rid of the Little Yellow Speaker in the Tray:
This really works!!! Thanks for the great tip...having all those icons in the clock
tray can get really annoying!
However, I noticed in Windows Me, the check box is found near the bottom of the dialog
box under the Sounds tab, not the Audio tab. Pretty easy to find :-)

You can remove all of the icons on your desktop too with the NoDesktop registry entry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
If the Policies or Explorer keys are missing, create them by right clicking on the
previous key, [Current version] select New, and Key, and give the new keys their
names, [Policies & Explorer]
Click on the Explorer key to view its values in the right pane. If there is not a
value named NoNetHood in the right pane, create it by right-clicking on the Explorer
key, selecting New, and DWORD Value.
In the right pane, NoNetHood should have a value data of 0x00000001 (0) next to it.
Double-click on NoNetHood and a dialogue box will appear allowing you to edit the
DWORD value. In the Value Data space should be a single zero. Change it to a 1 and
click on OK. Now the data figure beside NoNetHood should be 0x00000001 (1).
Close the Registry, and reboot your computer.
You can do the same for NoDesktop, and put the three last icons from the desktop
onto the quick-start bar simply by dragging them there.
Note: This is what this system has in the key Explorer.
CDRAutoRun 00 00 00 00 Binary

Incidentally, these use the highly advanced (not) ROT-13 encryption method (i.e.
rotating the letters of the alphabet by 13). http://www.rot13.com/index.php to decrypt/encrypt
the entries. Woo yay Microsoft!
