Question about 'Stop Pop-Up Spam Messages'

How can I stop pop ups from a certain site? I have used "Pop-Up Stopper" and it
ends up causing errors because the pop up keeps trying to open, in turn slowing down
my computer. I don't get the pop up if I am using another computer. I only have
this problem from this one site on this one computer. Does anyone have any ideas
to solve this problem?Stop

Probably the reason for the internet slowdown is your use of 'Pop up stopper' in
the first place.
You say your other pute doesn't have the problem so duplicate your IE settings, updates,
etc.
Compare MSCONFIG & kill off unnecessary processes.
Check for Trojans, Parasites and cleanup the HDD.

Run AD-Aware_v6
and/or
SpyBot_S&D as you most likely have AD-ware or porn pop up programs on your machine.
Install, update and run one of these programs to find such program and use it to
remove everything it finds.

THANKS!!! I installed Ad-Aware and updated it like you said, and that worked. Ad-Aware
found some 200 files that were spyware and/or adware. In the process my virus scanner
found a couple of viruses. Thanks again for the help!

I used Adware on a previous Windows 98 machine and deleted everything it found. The
system would no longer work; MS programmes performed illegal ops when opened and
mentioned a dll file problem. I couldn't solve it and now I'm afraid to run this
sort of software on my new XP machine. Did I do something wrong?
