Graham, you can download a progrm called Wintop
that does a good job. Or you can press ctrl, alt, delete and see most of them(do not
end task explorer or systray). You can go to start>run>type msconfig>ok>startup tab
to see most startup programs. If the remanants from the previous version of IE
were not removed the download may not complete. You should download a new copy of
IE 6.0 and a program called IEradicator
which cleans up the old IE files to the desktop>run the IEradicator>then install
IE 6.0. (Be sure not to install IE 6.0 SP1 untill after you run the IE radicator
or you may not have a browser to get on the internet ). If you still have probs
you might go to start>search>files and folders>type *oem.inf >search now>if thousands
appear in the right pane the ones with 0 kb file sizes need to be deleted for the
download to complete. It may take a little while but they will need to be deleted.---jabuck
