broadband internet doesn't work

this is my moms computer and shes running ME and four months ago it would connect
to the internet via a wireless d-link pci card with no problems. then out of nowhere,
it won't connect anymore. my other computer running XP, xbox live, and my moms computer
are on the same d-link router and only her computer wont connect. i took it to compusa,
they fixed all the other problems with the computer and said that my wireless card
was broken and i needed a new one for fourty dollars on top of the $120 they already
charged me beforehand. i shelled out the cash and to no avail, it still won't connect.
i tried a wired connection through the ethernet port, and still no connection.
device manager says everything is working properly and the status on the connection
strength is very strong. im sick of my mom using my computer to get on the net,
so somebody help me please.
