Desktop Appearance Settings Change

I have an old computer that my grandmother gave to me which I recently set-up in
the basement, It's a Pentium 233 with an upgrade to Windows 98. She can't see small
letters so of course changed the appearance to include large font so it looks like
its 640x480 with large white title bars and black letters. I of course changed this
back to Windows standard, but every other time the computer is turned off after being
shutdown, the settings go back to the previous. How can I lock the settings?

Try asking in the Windows 98 forum. This is a Windows ME forum.

Set it up like you need it and then in the RUN box, run SCANREGW. When done (if
OK), it will ask you if you want to save a copy. Save a backup copy. Do this twice
and then reboot.
It sounds like you have a Registry error or the ScanReg function has been removed
from the MSCONFIG Startup tab list.

Thanks for your help. I did what you said and had never deleted Scanreg from MSCONFIG,
but everytime I reboot the comp., the setting return to before. Is there another
solution?
