I have the standard Microsoft Internet Keyboard with the navigation buttons, caculator, My Comp., and Sleep butttons for my computer w/ Windows ME. Occasionally after I shut down the computer, the lights for num-lock and cap-lock (which I often use together), stay lit. How can I fix this?

Sounds more like you are only placing your system into Standby or Sleep mode, not shutting it down. If the system powers down, the keyboards led's should also go off as they are powered from the system.

Some things like Hibernate to not work correctly with Windows ME on desktop systems. Go to Control Panel, Power Options, and Hibernate tab. Under Hibernate make sure the "Enable hibernate support" is NOT Checked. If it is, uncheck it and click Apply.

Then in the Advanced tab, look for the "When I press the power button on my computer", change it too shutdown, not Standby.

I have disabled standby on my computer because my mouse cannot hibernate. When the lights stay lit I am 100% sure the computer is off. But the lights still stay lit anyway. Is there another solution?

I have a compaq keyboard connected to a generic pc. When it is completely shut down I have some lights still lit also. It's been this way all along. I don't think it's a problem.

Thanks for the help, but there definitely is a problem. It usually always turns off, but now that I think about it, the lights only stay lit when Windows ME fails to shutdown, and I have to shutdown manually. Could this be a driver problem?
