What is it that you desire to remove associated with portal searching? Have you been
hijacked or are you being attacked repeatedly? Please be more specific.

I have a portal searching icon which appears on the screen when I turn the computer
on. I have tried removing anything associated with portalsearching using Norton system
works, this clears any icon on the screen but when I re-boot the computor it reappears.

Go into RUN, type MSCONFIG and click ok. Open the startup tab and search for the
program that is running the feature you desire to disable. Uncheck the box next to
it (if you can find it). Click apply and restart the computer. If the program was
successfully disabled there should be no icon. If the icon remains you unchecked
the wrong box or you have some sort of malware. Let us know what happens.
