In advance settings you hit update and you get an error message. there are only a few ways this can happen. a) not hooked up to internet. b) spybot is way old and you didnt get full download the first time. c) The actual file has a virus. Its good to scan everything you down load with Norton Anti-Virus before you open it. My suggestion is deleat spybot and redown load. Pat dont deleat every bot on your system when you get it working. There are I think four files microsoft uses that have bots. If you deleat them your pc is in trouble. You can safely remove any item Spybot shows in Red. Fix ALL bots, and I'm sure you know there is no pay version of SpybotSD. As Pappy said, try a different mirror or try again later. This happens quite a bit, because the servers get overloaded. There's nothing wrong with with the program or anything on your system. To select a different mirror, click the update tab on the left, and you'll seen a downpointing arrow up there with a list of mirrors to choose from. Just select a different one. You shouldn't have uninstalled/reinstalled Spybot. That was not good advice to give you. Don't try to do a system restore over this, but I'm not qualified to help much with these problems. You should be able to just try again later, as sometimes the servers get overloaded, so it's not unusual to get that error. That's all I can suggest other than having you check the FAQ. I believe there's a Fix you can install, look under "how to uninstall" and check it out. If after trying again later to download the updates, and you continue to have problems, post on Spybot's support forum, the site at this link. You said clicking the mirror tab doesn't work. I've had that problem, but when I clicked the Update tab on the left, instead of the one at the top, it worked. I don't know why. Choose the US or Australian mirror, the default hasn't been working, probably overloaded.
