The standard set numbers 146 fonts on a Pan-European version of ME. If YOU have been
adding fonts then you should go to control panel, Fonts and remove them there. Those
marked with RED are SYSTEM fonts and must NOT be removed. Highlight the font you
wish to remove, then click file, delete.
A registry full of old keys WILL slow boot-up very badly. So FIRST of all go to Start,
Run and type: scanreg /fix /opt in the window and click OK.
To really see what is going on invest in Norton Utilities 2002 and use WinDoctor
and System Doctor to clean up system files. DiskDoctor is a better application than
ScanDisk in ... many ... respects but NOT in ALL of them. SpeedDisk is very handy
for optimising swap-files and for moving large Archive files to the front of the
disk so they do not ALWAYS have to be defragmented.

As a FYI, Scanreg/fix/opt will have no affect on existing keys (ie: old keys). Whatever
keys and values are there before, will still be there afterwards.
I would also question moving large archive files to the front of the disk to avoid
framentation. Why not move them to the very end of the disk. Then, you still have
primary (& faster) real estate available for everyday use?

Hello Kacey. I should have said to move large Archive files to the front of the disk
on an Archive drive and NOT on the C: drive.

Australia looks like a much better place to me! No religious or political intrigue
like we have in the Northern Hemisphere. MAC
