Question about 'Downloading Windows Updates'

I have a question about Downloading Windows Updates. Ever since a major crash some
months ago, if I go to Microsoft Updates and scan for updates, I receive an error
message saying page will now close - error with winspool.drv. Consequently my Computer
cannot be updated. Can anyone help?

Try extracting a new clean copy of WinSpool.DRV from the C:\Windows\Options\Install\WIN_16.CAB
folder (right click on the file, select Extract) and place it in the C:\Widows\System
folder to replace the copy that might be corrupted.
I would also recommend running SCANDISK and do a Thorough scan of the disk drive
to correct any errors first.

Thanks Jack. Extracted file OK but how do I copy over existing winspool.drv file
- can't overwrite, cut, paste etc into Sysytem folder when file is in use.
Cheers
