Question about 'Revert a Single Registry Setting to its Default'

I have a question about Revert a Single Registry Setting to its Default:

I have not seen any suggestions for WinMe. I have problem with IE6, which I can not access TOOLs-ITERNET OPTIONS. As soon as I click on it, it will have an error message saying " This operation has been cancelld dueto restrictions on this computer. Please contact your system administrator". Based on the article by Microsoft I should import the registry from another IE6 which I do not have access to. I am thinking to reset the registry to default. Please share your advices with me. Thanks -Cindy

Cindy, Mat because of a setting in spybot. Open spybot>click immunize>on the right side of the screen click undo and uninstall>exit. If you have futher probs try to repair internet explorer. Go to control panel>add/remove programs>scroll down to microsoft internet explorer(your version) and internet tools and click on it once to highlight>add/remove button>check the circle beside repair internet explorer>ok. Restart computer. ---jabuck

Hi Cindy, If youhaven't found a solution to this problem. I have a registry hack that can solve this problem (Before doing anything, create a backup of the registry, then proceed) 1. Click on Start, then click on Run. Type "regedit" in the box without the quotes and click OK. 2. In the Registry Editor, click on the "[+]" marks next to the following folders : [-] HKEY_CURRENT_USER [-] Software [-] Policies [-] Microsoft (The full path to the registry key in question is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer) 3. Under the Microsoft folder, a folder called Internet Explorer will appear. Click directly on this folder, not on the plus. 4. Having selected this folder, delete it pressing the delete key on the keyboard.
