john smith, Follow the directions Here
and post a HT log. Be sure to check the box "check this box to preserve your spacing"
below under options so it is readable. ---jabuck

You need to run the Shredder before considering posting a log. There are "about blank"
variants of this hijacker, and the Shredder should do the trick. That is, unless
it's the complex variant, in which case, none of the normal procedures will work,
including HijackThis.
Download the CWShredder tool on the bottom of this page:
CoolWebSearch Chronicles Close all browser windows and press FIX to
scan and clean. Reboot and run the Shredder again.
Clear out your TIF and other temp files. Internet Options - General tab. Delete temporary
internet files - choose 'delete all Offline content'. Settings - set the size of
your TIF folder between 5 - 10 MB. Find - Files or folders - in the named box, type:
*.tmp Select all - delete. Empty C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you
have one. Empty Recycle bin.
Disable system restore to clear out previous restore points. Then RE-enable it, if
you choose, "after" your system's cleaned up.
Disabling System Restore
I suggest installing SpywareBlaster to help protect your system from further problems.
Check for and download updates after installing it. Enable protection for Restricted
sites, as well as IE. Check for updates often: JavaCoolSoftware.com
