gary, The cws.mrhop is a variant of about blank I believe and is usually tough to
get rid of . The others not to tough but have files/folders that have to be removed.
Download Hijack This
and post a HT log. Be sure to check the box "check this box to preserve your spacing"
below under options so it is readable. Maybe someone can take a look at it. Or
you can try this forum Spywareinfo
but they are usually swamped with post so it may take a while to get results. ---jabuck

Hi, Stinger is a stand alone utility that can help, but the ones that you probably
need the most are; 'Spysweeper', 'NoAdware', 'AdAware' and you should probably also
get the 'dsostop2.exe'.
The last one was good advice from another member of this forum. It protects Internet
Explorer.
I wish that I could remember the name. I'm bad with names.
You may have to clean out your _RESTORE if that's where they are hiding.
Spysweeper notifies you if someone tries to change your homepage, just click no to
keep it the same.
Customize all of the programs for the best security.
Good luck, and have a great day, Darlene
P.S. The advice that Jabuck gave you should also be followed. It was good advice.

Darlene,
Noadware is a fake, rip-off "only claims to be", spyware removal program! Dump it...
:)
In fact, avoid those "sponsored ads" on Google, like the plague.

Get rid of Xofspy, pronto! It may be "installing" the spyware on your system. Then
run SpyBot S&D and Ad-aware also, if you wish.
It's a fake, rip-off "only claims to be" spyware removal, and possbily a hijacker.
There are many of those now. I just replied to Darlene that Noadware is a fake also.
Check this webpage for a continually updated list.

It's very important to clear out all your TIF and other temp files on a regular basis.
In Internet Options - General tab. Delete temporary internet files - choose 'delete
all Offline content'. Settings - set the size of your TIF folder between 5 - 10 MB.
Choose - View Objects - choose View Details on the toolbar. If any ActiveX Controls
are marked "unknown" or "damaged", remove them. Plus, remove any you don't recognize.
Drive-by ActiveX installs are a big problem. Find - Files or folders - in the named
box, type: *.tmp Select all - delete. Empty C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder,
if you have one. Empty Recycle bin.
Install SpywareBlaster to help prevent further problems. Note, it won't solve the
current issue. Check for and download updates after installing it. Enable protection
for Restricted sites, as well as IE. Check for updates often: JavaCoolSoftware.com

Hi, I know that NoAdware is probably the one that uses the Alexa tool bar that I
keep having to get rid of, but it's the only one that found my 'mimail' infection.
I knew hat something was here, but until I tried the 'NoAdware' I wasn't sure of
what it was. Nothing else found it because it was a newer version. All I have to
do is delete their annoying toolbar with 'Spysweeper'. Works like a charm.
It saved my Yahoo account from being shut down, I'm sure of it.
Thanks for the concern. It's very much appreciated.
If you can figure out how to get rid of a 'dialup Networking creep' on a so-called
new Computor, let me know.
I have an icon that shows up when I log off of the Net that is a networking computor
symbol that is blacked out with a red X acrossed it. I've only gotten rid of it once.
I've found logs, they have a backdoor.
Been here since I tried to change the Copyright Law. I'm tired of it.
Let me know if you've heard anything about it.
Again, thanks for the advice.
Sincerely and respectfully, Darlene

Believe it or not, that Alexa is installed with Internet Explorer and everytime you
repair IE, or update it, it's installed again.
Alexa registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\ {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a}\
is the "Whats related links" feature on your Internet Explorer toolbar. If you don't
use that feature, it's not a problem.
Internet Explorer Exposes Sensitive Information

P.S. It's up to you, but I still say get rid of that Noadware. It's a rip off of
Ad-aware and may have installed, whatever it is you're referring to. I do know it's
no good, whether it seems so or not. Some of those continually download and install
more spyware! I don't think that one does.

Hi, NoAdware could not have installed 'Mimail'. I didn't even have it yet. Mimail
is a worm that my Computor picked up from an infected email. I don't know why nothing
else detected it, but I was having problems so I downloaded all that I could to find
out what was wrong. NoAdware found it. Stinger didn't even have a clue, and neither
did any of my other programs.
Thanks for the tip on Alexa. They're a minor annoyance. Something that I can live
with.
Have a great weekend, Darlene
