sometimes the spy programs put in a host file, search for host. there should be
only one or two with a date going back to when you installed windows or when your
cd was made. delete the others. also look in start up to make sure nothing is starting
you don't want.
spywareblaster will keep a lot of things off your computer. it's free.

There's a removal tool specifically for the Look2Me parasite, called Kill2Me.
Merijn downloads: Kill2Me
Clear out all your temp folders: Internet Options - General tab. Delete temporary
internet files - choose 'delete all Offline content'. Settings - set the size of
your TIF folder between 5 - 10 MB. Choose - View Objects - choose View Details on
the toolbar. If any ActiveX Controls are marked "unknown" or "damaged", remove them.
Plus, remove any you don't recognize. Find - Files or folders - in the named box,
type: *.tmp Select all - delete. Empty C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder,
if you have one. Empty Recycle bin.
Download SpybotS&D 1.3:
Safer-Networking.org
or from Major Geeks:
SpyBot-Search & Destroy 1.3 Close running programs, install. Reboot.
Load it and check for and download updates. Close your browser and run the "Default
mode" scan. 'Check All', and fix everything SpyBot-S&D labels in RED. Reboot.
Disable system restore to clear out previous restore points. Then RE-enable it, if
you choose, "after" your system's cleaned up.
Disabling System Restore

hey. I just got rid of Here4search. go look for Ad-aware
and use it. It takes it right off your computer.
