: E-mail account disabling warning.
From: administration@yahoo.com Add to Address Book
Dear user of "Yahoo.com" mailing system,
Our antivirus software has detected a large amount of viruses outgoing
from your email account, you may use our free anti-virus tool to clean up
your computer software.
For further details see the attach.
The Management,
The Yahoo.com team
Hi, I was getting a LOT of Mailer Daemon messages. None of my Programs could detect
the problem. Yahoo was going to close my free account with them. I was having other
problems, everything pointed to a worm.
I downloaded 'NoAdware' and it found the newest version of Mimail, and deleted it,
for free.
I have a lot of AntiVirus Programs. The only one that charges me is McAfee.
I'm VERY ANGRY with this Forum. How dare they give me a private email, Warning me
to 'Stop recommending 'NoAdware.'
My account with Yahoo is still active. I believe that 'Mimail' was probably the problem.
'NoAdware' got rid of it.
Research has shown that there may possibly be a Lawsuit between 'NoAdware' and 'Spywareblaster'.
Cloned? I'm not sure. I don't care!!! This Forum seems to reccomend 'Spywareblaster.'
Why?
What happened to my First Ammendment Rights that someone at the administration level
of this Forum would send me an email that tells me that I cannot reccomend a solution
that worked for me?
If the Administrators of this Forum have a legitimate Problem with a specific Program,
they should let us know and give us legitimate reasons for their decision.
Slapping me in the face was wrong!!! I believe that I have been a useful member of
this Forum. I hope you agree. If you don't, I will bow out.
I take offense to the annonymous email!!!
Get a backbone! If you have problem with 'NoAdware', post it, and let everyone research
it on their own.
Don't take your insecurities out on me!!! I know who you are from your previous comments.
Be honest. I AM!!!
Sincerely, Darlene

Darlene, i just sent a attachment of your messege to a friend who works at yahoo,
it seems a little fishy due to the fact that this person had told me in the recent
past that the only antivirus and security tools it utilizes is symamtec, i will let
you know when the get back to me, ok kiddo? :(

You have to be quite careful these days as there ARE some scam programs that always
say that they have found something wrong and "remove" it for you. But then it gets
installed when ... you ... install the scam.
I have to say that I really don't know about 'NoAdware'.

Gee...
I got almost the same exact e-mail from HotMail.com regarding my account a while
back. And one from my Dial-up ISP the same day! Followed the next day with one from
Yahoo.com.
It/they wanted me to use their link to access their free virus scan software,
but fill in some personal account information for verification first, including enter
my *****'ed password for access.
First problem was I do not nor never had an account with Yahoo.com!
Second the link to access their free software, while it looked good in the HTML,
was to servers in Asia.
Third, a quick check of my router access logs, showed that my systems had not
accessed any of these ISP's or their e-mail servers for the past week! (I had been
busy doing other things and had only been using my cable ISP.)
Forth, running several different Adware, Spyware, Virus and Trojan scans did not
pick up any thing unusual. And doing a full check of all programs (including hidden
ones) did not show any new program files on my system that I was not aware of. I
of course did not run any of the scam scanners like NoAdware which "report fake infections
that do not exist". (They really want to look get and get you to buy their scam product.)
Accessing those e-mail accounts did show a few "returned" e-mail claiming a virus
was found. But a close check of the HTML in these notices showed that they did not
actually come from the ISP e-mail server they claimed to have come from, but an account
somewhere in Asia, ... hum do I detect a pattern here.
When I then click on the link provided and entered some "fake" account information,
it accepted it and passed me to valid links on those ISP's web sites! A quick
check of router logs then showed that I had accessed an IP address in Asia and then
the actual ISP web sites.
Hum... smells like the typical scam to me. An attempt to get your logon passwords.
I also got this e-mal yesterday:
Hoax Warning
I hate those hoax warnings, but this one is important! Send this warning to everyone
on your e-mail list.
If someone comes to your front door saying they are conducting a survey and asks
you to take your clothes off,
do not do it.!!! This is a scam; they only want to see you naked.
I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid now.....

I just remembered something else. Someone warned me about recommending a certain
registry cleaner from this forum. From the administration.
And they were absolutely right! Now that was a couple of years ago.
Some of the people here are involved in programming and they can take these bogus
programs apart to find out if they are any good or not.
When I had someone targeting me deliberately with viruses in the email, I just passed
it on to the FBI.

Darlene, please paste the contents of that email here on the forum, so we can see
what this anonymous admin emailed you.
"I take offense to the annonymous email!!! I know who you are from your previous
comments. Get a backbone!"
Since I'm probaby the only member that's discussed NoAdware with you before, do you
believe it was from me? If so, you couldn't be more wrong. I replied to you directly
on the forum, just recently on the subject.
I have no reason to send you a private (anonymous) email about it also.
I was straightforward and up front with you, in a previous discussion. I can scour
the board for a link to that thread, if necessary. If someone sent an anonymous email,
it couls be a be fake to make problems for someone else here, including you! Administrator/s
of this Forum have nothing to do with people sending other members private or anonymous
emails.
"What happened to my First Ammendment Rights that someone at the administration
level of this Forum would send me an email that tells me that I cannot reccomend
a solution that worked for me?
Your advice to use Noadware is BAD, and DANGEROUS advice. We, as other members, have
a right make an issue of it, as long as we're civil about it. The purpose of the
forums is to help other users, after all.....isn't it? So, what rights do you believe
the Administrator has here?
"If you have problem with 'NoAdware', post it, and let everyone research it on
their own."
I posted this link to Spyware Warrior's blog, in my first discussion with you awhile
back, and you still insisted that NoAdware is a good program, and refused to listen
to me. I should have asked you then not to recommend it to other users.

yup just i suspected, i had just recieved back an email back from my friend and they
had stated that yahoo DOES NOT send emails saying that they will cut you off of services
both free and paid other than that of recieving a complaint about you for email abuse,
further more they added that they will not cut services because of this, knowing
all the junk that slips by in the email, you will simply recieve a courtesy mail
dameon saying that a virus was detected but removed and that that mail is protected
to let you aware of what it looks like and NO link is provided within the warning
text of the mail they sent, it will usually be highlighted in blue or purple on the
"from" box. they scan the mail themselves with a contract through symantec and DO
NOT provide links thereof, in other words its up to you to go and purchase antivirus
software for your computer. i have been a "plus" subscriber for about 3years, and
used thier free services for about 4 years before that, and had recieved many strange
emails, usually i dont open them in anyway, i delete and empty the trash bin. they
had also stated that you should practice the same security rule because they cannot
provide total protection, but do thier best in trying to protect your email both
incoming and outgoing...whew.....- joe

Hi, I'd like to thank you all for your concern. I almost didn't even want to get
back on the Forum. I like helping people though.
I didn't mean to make it all about me, I just got angry.
Joe, the email did say that Symantec had found the problem, even on my end. I got
rid of Norton because they could not get rid of the problem. All they did was warn
me that it was going on. It was the latest version of Mimail and wasn't detected
by anything else at the time.
MAC, Thank you for your Honesty.
I just got my Computor back from the FBI about two or three months ago. Three pages
of stuff to get rid of, and I still have the blacked-out Computor with a red X on
it in my icon tray when I log off of the Net.
I do not believe that NoAdware and Yahoo are in kahoots. I know this is going to
sound lame, but if I'm unsure of an emails authenticity I send it to my dad and he
checks it out thoroughly.
The complaint was genuine. Stupid as it sounds, it started with a recipe joke that
a friend sent me. Norton found it, but for some reason could not totally delete it.
I even tried 'Spyhunter', which I will not reccomend.
Research shows that 'Spywareblaster' and 'NoAdware' may go to blows in court over
the possibility of 'Spywareblaster' being a cloned program. If this is true, and
'NoAdware' is no good, then neither is 'Spywareblaster'.
I know that I was purposely targeted because of a 'Copyright' Infringement problem
dealing with a Childrens book that I wrote, and a Proposed Law Change for the Copyright
Law. I mass emailed it to Congress. Five years worth of Legal Research down the tubes.
Carol. Are you an Administrator of this Forum. You proved to me that the email came
directly from you.
I had hoped that I was wrong. If you have a legitimate gripe with 'NoAdware', Post
it. With facts.
Decide for yourselves.

You are rude to people on this Forum. I really don't know if you realize it, but
I have noticed it, and I'm sure that others have also.
When dealing with these people you need to show more compassion and empathy. We are
all struggling in our own ways, but we are all human, and we all need the help of
others on occasion.
I don't know what's really bothering you, but I'm sure that it goes much deaper than
an 'Antivirus Program.'
I wish you luck in dealing with it.
Thank God for Jacks warning!!!

Dear Jack, I wish you'd warned me about this months ago. I've had people lining up
at my door using this Hoax. I thought that it was just another Government intrusion.
They said they were Census takers.
Everyone, thanks again and have a great day.
You people almost feel like family, but I think I like you better.

Hi, I have not had 'popups' or any problems with 'NoAdware'.
I believe that the whole problem with them is a bad rep because of the possibility
of an impending Lawsuit.
They really don't find much of anything in comparison to my other Programs.
Most people aren't looking at the whole picture.
Some Forums lie. I was told by the Inventors of ProcKill that their Program was part
of the Windows Operating System and that it should not be deleted. When you do a
search and go to propertiies on 'Terminator', or 'Killwind' it says that it is a
Process killer of Windows. The other two Programs that they install are 'HideWindows',
and 'FondleWindows' and the Properties deals with Children. It's probably a Child-Porn
link and they're somehow using yor Computor.
Probably with 'Dialup Networking'. The FBI found more than forty 'DUN' links when
they looked into my problems.
Just because someone says something is true, it doesn't make it true.
Thank you for insight, and I hope that others on this Forum read your Post and use
the link. I also hope that they will research on their own so that they can make
an educated opinion based on facts?!
Thank you again for your concern. Have a great Holiday weekend. Sincerely, Darlene

Hi, I went through my Registry. There is nothing amiss. Is it possible that someone
may have sabotaged 'NoAdware' after I had already installed it, or maybe they changed
it themselves. Maybe the newer version is different than the one I installed. I haven't
updated it, as yet.
Now, I probably won't. Looks like we all may need to do more research and decide
for ourselves.
Anyway, Thank you for your concern. Hopefully this issue gets resolved soon.
People need help and we're all posting on this issue.
I believe that the people on this Forum are intelligent enough to decide on their
own after research.
Thanks again, and have a great Holiday weekend, Darlene

I proved nothing to you. If you really believed it was from Administration, why didn't
you contact Annoyances about it? No, I'm not adminstration, and why would you think
that. You consider that an anonymous email? You know good and well, that's an email
notification from Annoyances, letting you know that someone replied to your Post

As I've mentioned before, NoAdware is FAKE. Please don't tell me again, what you
think it cleaned off your system.
If you want to use a fake program, that's your priviledge, but please don't recommend
it to others on this board. Who's side are you on?? Sorry, but it makes one wonder...

Why are you defending that program so strongly? Why don't you get it?? Legitimate
"gripes", as you put it, have already been posted. Most of us don't need any convincing,
nor do we care to waste time doing extensive research on the NoAdware program. What
does all this other trash you posted, have to do with anything here? You've done
nothing less than spam this board, with your personal issues and unrelated rantings.
Funny, "I know who you are".....I'm not hiding, so why didn't you mention
me by name, if it was my post you were referring to and at least clarify by posting
the "private anonymous email", rather than the email from Yahoo!?? How cowardly....why
don't you "Get a backbone!".....
You've combined two unrelated topics here. The subject of your thread, is unrelated
to that Yahoo email business, etc.

Yep, that's the header in my reply to you, in that previous thread. I should have
posted my reply also, since you tend to get things all "twisted up". No big deal,
since that thread is just a couple pages back. Others can read it for themselves.
Still wondering why you didn't post that response to you....
"You are rude to people on this Forum. I really don't know if you realize it,
but I have noticed it, and I'm sure that others have also.
When dealing with these people you need to show more compassion and empathy. We are
all struggling in our own ways, but we are all human, and we all need the help of
others on occasion.
I don't know what's really bothering you, but I'm sure that it goes much deaper than
an 'Antivirus Program.' I wish you luck in dealing with it."
Hmmm??? What is the above message a combination of....
