How do you stop c drive from opening when ME boots?

Hi. I would like to know how to stop my c drive from opening when ME starts up. I have just done a clean install of ME and have not installed any thing other than the basic drivers and critical updates. I have seen some regedits, but I don't seem to have the exact paths that are specified. ie: microsoft says delete DesktopProcess from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer, but i don't have anything called DesktopProcess there. I also have nothing in my start up and as far as i can tell nothing in msconfig that would cause that window to open.

C:\ drive is usually the default harddrive - ever time you boot up it starts with DOS - and if "Windows ME" is installed, it will open - it is the lifeline of the computer - why would you want it shut off;

Hi Dawn,

Visit the two following keys in your Registry and make sure
that every item in the right panel is enclosed in quotes:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Regards.
Ron
