I found your site, am im having some problems, i deleted some files foolishly and im not a rookie at this, and , well what happened was my son in law had used this to look on the net and got some damn spyware loaded, i tired to fix it and thought i had it when i rebooted, i cant open any programs. cant run restore, or even reinstall windows me, cant open anything, here is what it says:( windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the approite permissions to access the item) im ok with the computers but this is not my thing i design and have websites, and know that end of it, this on this problem im lost. the computer works, boots up, opens to windows however no programs load, but i can still get online, in fact im on it now. Do you have any suggestions. Thanks Claude

It's difficult to know what to suggest, not knowing what it was you deleted. Do you 
just "assume" it was something that shouldn't have been deleted, or do you know that 
for sure? What did you use to clean out the spyware? It's important to know some 
of these details. What was the spyware, if anything specific? Hijackers cause all 
sorts of problems, and restrictions on the system is one of them.

If it's only a problem with running executables, some trojans can cause that problem. 
Can't you open Explorer windows either? You can run this and see if that'll fix your 
executable problem. Just download the EXEfix08 file from the menu at this link. It'll 
restore the standard 'EXE' information into a SubSeven type Trojan altered Windows 
Registry.
