I get this message when I try to open Word 2000. This has been happening on and off.
I have reinstalled Word. Use Norton to find and fix missing files and link. Check
the system resources. Clean up disk space. Empty recycle bins. Temp files you name
it, but to no avail. All my other applications software works fine. But the problem
lies whenever I try to open Word 2000. My OS is Windows ME. The message I get is:
"System Resources is dangerously low Winword is not responding" then it continues
to asked me to close all the other files that are running How do I fix this? Thanks
for your respond

Do you open Word while online? It uses quite a bit of resources, and if you have
a lot of programs running that can cause problems. I don't "know" that is the problem,
but it would be good to avoid loading Word while online.
Try trimming down your startups, and eliminate unnecessary items. Most programs can
be started as needed. Everything in startup, is constantly running in the background
using resources. In fact, there are often applications running, that aren't needed
at all. In addition, check Jack's (a forum regular) page for suggestions and a link
to a tasklist site.

Search for and delete "normal.dot". Restart Word. Hope this helps.
