whenever I am using a program such as MSWord or any other window where I might be typing text..or playing a game such as madden...I get an interuption that means I have to re click on the page or window I am typing on to return to the task. In the case of the game it minimises the window. These interruptions are constant and at regular intervals....maybe 3 or 4 minutes apart. I can find no cause for them as I don't know what else could be running to do this. Have switched off my virus scanning asnd still it happens. Any ideas?

Work through all of Windows ME fixes page as it should help find out what is causing this switch in focus.
It could be all sorts of Spyware/ADware or other Malware, or even Windows scheduled tasks running in the back ground, such as Automatic Windows/IE updates. Be sure to go through the process of disabling System Restore once to clear the old restore files and this can cause problems like that if these files are corrupted.
