I'm a pc tech and I have a user with the same issue. There are several other things
you can try. Try using a Windows 98 driver. ME will read some of them, if that doesn't
work, try a different cd rom. I think you are having an issue with the OS. Was the
other computer you tried the cd on a Windows ME pc also? It may be necessary to bite
the bullet and move on to a real operating system. Windows XP Professional for example.
You might also try the cd on the other controller to see if you have an issue with
the controller on your motherboard. (Try booting with a Windows 98 boot disk and
accessing your cd from the dos prompt...if it doesn't present a problem, it's probably
your OS).
