email client recommendations?

I've been using Eudora forever. I installed the most recent upgrade and I'm not
happy anymore. The last Eudora began to crash my system, particularly when I closed
it. This one regularly but intermittently refuses to send or check my email (and
my antivirus is set to not check outgoing email) plus it seems to be a system hog.
Another user on their board said he thinks it has a memory leak.
Whatever's up with it, my system works much better when I don't use Eudora at all.
So now what? My ISP seems to support Incredimail. Is it any good? I have webmail
accounts but I do like to have one client-type email, too, and needless to say I'm
not about to use Outlook.
So any recommendations? Anybody think Incredimail works well - especially with ME?
Any other ideas?

I use Mozilla's Thunderbird and have no complaints.

In the past I used Incredimail and they provided a junk folder. That made the Incredimail
extremly slow switching between folders. I had the preimum version so I emailed them
several times and they said they were working on it. They have fixed it as I downloaded
the newest version moments ago and it is perfect. Here is the link http://www.incredimail.com/english/download.html
Try it you can always uninstall. If you like to jazz up your emails somewhat, this
is for you...john

I go with Sarge. Thunderbird's the way to go. Nice and simple, easy to set up, works
like a champ.

And one more vote for Thunderbird. I tried Incredimail, both the free version and
the premium and found both to be resource hogs. Plus it took forever to get all the
files out after dumping the program, because their uninstaller doesn't work well
either. My primary email is at Yahoo and they no longer support file transfer to
Incredimail. About the only thing I miss is the cute girl in the bikini tellin' me
"You've got mail". I've also deleted all my Outlook files and just stick to Thunderbird.

Thanks, folks. I was just about to try Thunderbird when I read my latest ZDNet newsletter
- in which the reviewer trashed Thunderbird for doing all the things that Eudora's
doing to bug me :(
In fact, I didn't find any mail client that people didn't have big problems with,
including Foxmail and even hoary old Pegasus.
Oh for the days of simple old text-based easy email without all the dang bells and
whistles and bugs...
