HELPPPPP MY PC WONT boot

Hi
Can anyone help me i just toasted my windows Me installation by deleting one file!
Now in my defence it wasn't hidden or even read-only who would have guessed deleting
bootsect.dos would cause my PC to stop booting.This must be a new file because i
didn't see it in the root c:/ folder before.
This is (step by step) what happened
1 tried to install xp pro (non upgrade) on a separate partition (d:/) crashed halfway
(scratched CD-rw)
2 removed Win xp using the XP-CD to delete the partition.
3 boot'ed windows me
4 deus ex IW
5 Finished messing about in conspiracy world and added some (legitimate) movies from
my portable harddisk (white noise rules). after copying i seen a load of logs (Tracemp.log)
and crap which i assumed boot sect.dos was.
6 pugled the plug (that log-off stuff is bull Ive been doing this for years)
7 rebooted 24 hrs later at the boot menu windows xp is still there i selected "Microsoft
windows" for Win Me and see the error
CANNOT BOOT HARD DISK(1)PARTITION(1)BOOTSECT.DOS FILE MISSING OR CORRUPT (or something
like that)
8 realised what a dumb-ass i was but thought this was stupid windows crying over
nothing so i booted from a Linux CD
(Knoppix officially the worlds shittest OS) i made eirler to throw darts at alongside
my photos of John Kerry and Bill
luckily i am rubbish at darts so t took it down (for now!) and made a new bootsect.dos
with gfhjjhkl;'lo'p or something like that saved it and plugged out
9 booted up and selected me BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP....

So i guess my question is can i just write a new bootsect.dos or is there anyway
to get it back without windows AND I TRIED LOOKING IN
C:/ RECYCLED the logs are there and the roms i deleted on the same day(i didn't empty
the bin)
My me instillation is Pre-installed I CANT REINSTALL IT
To do This i have these
1 Knoppix the worlds shittest OS (I CAN MAKE EDIT MOVE OR DELETE FILES WITH THIS)
2 windows XP pro CD (The console works )
2 (Somewhere) A windows me boot floppy
Some of your finest sarcasm (You guys seem to be experts) would be appreciated as
long as you come up with a solution.
AND YES I KNOW I'M A DUMB-ASS!
