Windows Update Problem

Whenever I use Windows Update and download it messes up my computer. When I now start my computer it starts in safe mode, then when I get it running in right mode it hangs on me. The only I can get it to run right now is to do a systems update everytime. I don't know what files to try and delete. Any suggestions?

I have a similar problem with a cumulative update for Outlook Express 6 in Windows ME (not withstanding the part about the virus that our church secretary introduced into the computer): Check out these possible solutions: bring it up in safe mode Start run regedit go into the registry and remove anything you don't recognize in the; local machine software microsoft windows current version all of the 'run' files
