Windows ME does'nt recognise camera

I recently reformatted my harddrive and have installed all my stuff again...printer
scanner etc. I installed my fuji camera software and it used to automatically run
when plugged in...but now does nothing. Camera is not listed under scanners and cameras
at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling...and I downloaded the latest usb driver
from the website...but to no avail. Any ideas? The cameras website is not very helpful.
Camera model is Finepix A205s.

Have you checked the Device Manager to see if the USB ports' driver is installed?
(Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Device Manager)

I seem to have fixed the problem...I updated to directx9 and gave the camera installation
disc a good clean..one of these made it work!!!
