After removing xp and going back to me because of conflicts with drivers, my control panel and some other panels, including Help and Support are completely empty. How do I fix this without having to re-instal ME?

You might need to re install the appropriate hyper text folder templates that Windows ME uses to display folder items, there are specialised ones for each folder type, Pictures, Movies, etc.
Using the msconfig tool, expand the following files from the original Windows ME boot disk to %windir%\WEB

  • standart.htt
  • sysroot.htt
  • controlp.htt
  • default.htt
  • folder.htt

  • It should work, since they are the main files used by Explorer to display folders, and these might be missing.

However, check first if they are missing, because if they're not, you may have another problem.
