Hi my name is Rob, Okay oneday I got on my comp. and it made me boot it up in safe mode. So there for I did and when i restarted my comp. It still looked like it was in safe mode. And I cant use my windows media player and some see most of the pics I got on my comp it wont let me change the back ground size it is stck on 640x480 lol and it is runing a 16 bit color I tryed to chage it but is wont let me it said to do this u must restart your comp. so I did like 100 times! Still dont change I download a new dxdiag.exe file and still nothing I think I tryed just about every thing and I got the dxdiag.txt file if you need that it might help I dunno. I was toled it would. Plz help thank you.

It "lost" your display adapter driver information.

In Control Panel, System icon, Device Manager tab, expand the item for Display adapters. Select the line with the name of the video adapter to highlight it, then click the Remove button at the bottom. Remove the current selected driver. And then reboot.

When you reboot Windows should find the current driver again (unless you deleted its files). I it asks for a CD/diskette use the Browse button to point to the C:\Windows folder.

Once it finds the driver again, you should be able to set the screen size and color depth again.
