Error with Audio CDs

When I insert an audio CD into the CDRom, I get an error that says: "Windows cannot
access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions
to access the item."
Data CDs work fine. Only audio CDs produce this error.
I am the only user on this computer, so I should have permission to access everything.
I also can't burn audio CDs. But when I try, I don't get the error, it just ends
up failing.
Suggestions please.
Thanks

Try going into the properties of the CD drive in device manager and modify the "enable
digital audio..." (check or uncheck the box) and try it again. The burning issue
is most likely a buffer under run, try lowering the speed during burning in the burn
program (assuming that your hardware is intact and functioning correctly).

Nope, didn't help. Still does the same thing. As far as burning, tried it at all
speeds, even 2x... Never had any problem burning until this error of inserting
audio CDs starting happening. Computer says device is working properly. NOT...
Data CDs work fine...

1> Go into safe mode and check for any "ghost" CD drives and delete them if found.
2> Check in device manager and make sure the one you are using is correctly identified
and has the correct drivers installed, possibly there are new drivers available from
the mfgr. 3> Your burning program may not properly support the drive, check there
for any patches. 4> The drive may have failed.
