Free Virus Protection

I had a free firewall and free virus scanning protection through AOL. I left AOL
and only have the McAfee firewall. Are there any good free virus scanners available,
and if so, will I need to change my firewall.

Ive been using:
1. AVG Anti Virus Free Edition,
2. Zone Alarm Free Version for my Firewall
3. Sunbelt Counter Spy or Webroot Spy Sweeper for Anti-Spy programs for comparisons
(Free 30 day Trials)
I've never had good luck with AOL anything, so I would try AVG for Starters here
is a link http://www.grisoft.com/doc/40/lng/us/tpl/tpl01
I dont think you will have to change your firewall but I havent use Macafee.
So far I seem to be virus free, and after buying Norton's things for years and then
having them send me updates that deactivated other programs I paid for when the
virus program ran out, I would never use them again.

is the McAfee firewall a stand alone Firewall, or a packaged firewall+av? if packaged,
you're fine with it, but if just a stand alone firewall only, AVG or Avast! are two
exellent choices in free AV's, links below along with others to choose from, spyware
scanner/remover and what not.

McAfee has a great firewall product, so you need only look for AV software.
